It responds to ctrl-c, but I wouldn't date reboot the computer.

It stops there for more than an hour.
There's nothing relevant in everything.log
Here's what I have in /etc/mkinitcpo.conf
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usbinput keymap encrypt filesystems"
uname -r returns:
3.1.1-1-ARCH

Removed autodetect from the list and now it is generated fine
