linux-3.1.3-1-x86_64 freezing on Parsing hook: [autodetect]

It responds to ctrl-c, but I wouldn't date reboot the computer.

The exact output is:

:: Retrieving packages from core...
 linux-3.1.3-1-x86_64                                   40.1M   79.5K/s 00:08:36 [##############################################] 100%

  -> Parsing hook: [base]
  -> Parsing hook: [udev]
  -> Parsing hook: [autodetect]

It stops there for more than an hour.

There's nothing relevant in everything.log

Here's what I have in /etc/mkinitcpo.conf

HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usbinput keymap encrypt filesystems"

uname -r returns:

3.1.1-1-ARCH

Any ideas?
