Wicd prevents system poweroff and reboot

Hello all,

I've recently had problems with nm-applet showing "device not ready" although iwlist scan clearly showed that it was working 100% so I switched to wicd. Everything works perfectly BUT: wicd somehow prevents my system from properly rebooting or poweroffing: when I select to reboot, everything gets shutdown properly (I see the corresponding message even for wicd), I see the "Rebooting" message and it stays there forever. The same happens with power off. If I never run the wicd daemon, the system shuts down correctly.

Whatsmore, I can't seem to find anything relevant in the logs in order to pinpont the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks!
