[SOLVED] Some issues updating pacman

So when I try to update to pacman 4 I get this:

[matt@archtop ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu
Password:
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
 multilib is up to date
 archlinuxfr is up to date
:: The following packages should be upgraded first :
    pacman
:: Do you want to cancel the current operation
:: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n] y

resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: package-query: requires pacman<3.6
[matt@archtop ~]$

and if I don't choose to update pacman first, it allows me to continue with upgrading everything else, including pacman.

[matt@archtop package-query]$ sudo pacman -Syu

 core is up to date
 extra is up to date

Is it safe to it this way, or would it end up breaking something?

I read through this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=128401 but it doesn't seem too relevant now. I already removed yaourt, just in case, but anyone have any suggestions?

Re: [SOLVED] Some issues updating pacman

You should be fine, just remember to merge the pacnew files afterwards.
