samba upgrade succesful, delete smbpasswd?

After a succesfull upgrade to samba and moving to tdbsmb for password vault I'm wondering if I can (should?) remove smbpasswd left-overs? It's not a good security praxis to have files containt credential information lingering on a machine unnoticed. Call me paranoid :-)

Should I remove smbpasswd from /etc/samba/private?

thanks!
