Falure at boot

When I boot my machine, I get the following failure message:

Found hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Nvidia GPU 1c HDMI/DP" "HDA:10de001c,17aa21ce,00100
100" "0x17aa" "0x21ce"
Hardware is initialized using a generic method
                                                                          [FAIL]

Here is an image of the error.

I'm not sure if this is related to my graphics card or something else. I have a ThinkPad T420 that has Optimus switching graphics (two graphics options that have switching capabilities under Windows). One of the graphics options (Intel Integrated Graphics) is disabled in the BIOS (the Nvidia card is the only one being used). I also have kernel options in /boot/grub/menu.lst, here is a portion of that file:

# (0) Arch Linux
title  Arch Linux
root   (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/01f47e5c-ce1d-47ba-a74d-bb960d177e2a ro acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi=Linux
initrd /initramfs-linux.img

These are the options I've added:

acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi=Linux

I'm not certain what is causing this. I have tried disabling the two options, but this error still occurs at boot. I'm not sure if this would help, but this is the output of lspci:

Re: Falure at boot

That worked, thanks.

So, from my understanding, that just saves the current audio settings to the file, /var/lib/alsa/asound.state?
