I can connect to the internet just fine when connecting straight through the cable modem (webstar), but when I connect to the router and fire up dhcp, I can't get anything. I had it working just fine at my old apartment. There was only one thing that I can think of that was different. I ran a setup for my girlfriends computer for the router, I don't think that would make a difference, and that may show how much I know about my hardware.
Does anyone know what needs to be done to get my router working, or maybe direct me to some documentation? Thanks in advance.

There's a good manual which comes with the router.
Maybe login to the browser's web interface and see what's wrong there.

and pay attention to your physcial connections too (ie input goes in WAN socket instead of UPLINK...things like that)

I checked that pretty well, but its easy to overlook things that you are especially looking for. For some reason I never thought to try the internal configuration page. I will look through there when I get home, although I really don't know what to look for.
Unfortunately everything in the manual has to do with windows, but i'll look some more to see what i can find.
EDIT: I did try the admin page for the router, but I got a 'connection refused'

My daughter's boyfriend had a similar problem. It turned out the modem needed to be reset because it had configured itself to the PC's NIC so didn't accept the connection when it was plugged into the router (different MAC address).
This was an ADSL modem so I don't know if your cable modem does the same.
