You are not logged in.
If you want to use the device's modem, say, on a desktop machine, it works exactly as described in the Wiki,
and is fast as ligthning. Just remember to back-up/restore your /etc/resolv.conf as it gets cleared by the process.
Of course you only need it if you (have to) use dial-up once in a while.
Full marks to Archlinux! No need to get/buy programs on Android Market that promise to do the same
(only 1 I've tested actually demonstrated that it was able to communicate with the X10).
