Setting PPPoE for ADSL, AccessReject?

I've been trying to set up a ADSL connection using rp-pppoe. I've done what an article tells me:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=713267

which means:
1. install rp-pppoe
2. run sudo pppoe-setup
3. finish the setup
4. run sudo pppoe-start

but it won't connect. tried the pppd version:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PP … _with_pppd
still does not work although

$ sudo pon
Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
RP-PPPoE plugin 3.8p compiled against pppd 2.4.5

I don't know what else to do, so I tried running pppoe-connect (I don't know why I run this thing, but I don't know what else to do, just trial and error). it says

$ sudo pppoe-connect
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
Remote message: AccessReject Deny Access
PAP authentication failed
Connection terminated.

Checked the stuff in /etc/ppp/, pppoe.conf, chap-secrets, pap-secrets seems ok, do it just as the tutorial. /etc/ppp/peers/provider also done just as the tutorial.

So where I get this wrong, or my ISP (university) rejects Linux connection?
Doing fine with Windows. No luck yet with Archlinux and Crunchbang (although in Crunchbang it uses the Gnome network manager, but the result is the same).

*And because the receptionist in the computer room is a student as well, asking them Linux just won't work. They even never seen one.
