nm-applet weird behavior

Hello community,

I've been connecting to internet( through wifi ) with terminal using iwconfig + dhcpcd for last six months(since I moved to arch). Last week I've decided to tryout nm-applet and now when I try to connect via terminal with dhcpcd it gives me timed out. I can only now connect via nm-applet and can't connect via terminal. I'm confused why is this happening, so if there is someone who knows why this happens I would be really grateful.

I'm using HP compaq notebook which has that nasty b43-cutter firmware for wireless interface, but I doubt that has anything to do with dhcpcd(or am I wrong?)

Thanks for help.

Re: nm-applet weird behavior

You are right of course, it should not matter at all.
Does it make a difference if you stop networkmanager first (rc.d stop networkmanager)?
