index.pl not interpreted

So far I've read the archlinux LAMP and mod_perl wikis, but am having issues.

when I go to http://localhost I see a folder named westex. inside is my index.pl file. I've installed mod_perl, but when I try to run index.pl in chromium, the source is displayed instead of the intended content.

BTW I do not see a /cgi-bin in /srv/http
I only see /westex in /srv/httpd

**UPDATE** Restarted after pc not recovering from suspend. Perl scripts in main westex folder seem to be executing perfectly now.

Re: index.pl not interpreted

If it works you could edit your post and append [SOLVED] to your post's title.

Re: index.pl not interpreted

back to not working again after I edited index.pl. Sounds fishy I know, but I used a backup file and still no luck. Any links? ideas? External ideas? Anyone?
