[SOLVED] Can't get Broadcom wifi card working with wicd

I have  a BCM4312 and I followed the instructions in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Br … roadcom-wl but the card does not show up. Only when I type iwconfig I can see eth1 but when I try to set it up by typing "ifconfig eth1 up" I can see the card but without it appearing in wicd-gtk. After I tried the Troubleshooting steps in the wiki page, I rebooted my laptop and now the eth0 is not working too. It is showed in wicd-gtk but every time i click connect, it gets stuck in obtaining ip address and fails.

Well, fixed everything here, by putting the eth0 interface down and up again, setting wireless interface in wicd eth1 and rebooting. The only problem is that when I type the network's password, I can't click ok hmm

Have you read the swapped interfrace part of the wiki?  Your wifi should not be eth0, it should be wlan0.

Exactly! But where is the code of wicd and how can I change it as these post say? Also, would the problem be fixed if I tried another network manager?

Update your system.  Wicd 1.7.2.4-2 was released today with the fix
