Rt2x00 (rt73usb), udevd segfaults when enabling the device.

I have a Linksys Compact G wireless adapter(WUSB54GC).
When I'm trying to enable the device(ip link set wlan0 up) udevd segfaults and ip link freezes.
I'm trying to use the Rt2x00 driver.

dmesg output looks like this when inserting the USB:

[ 1950.453417] usb 2-1.7: new full-speed USB device number 116 using ehci_hcd
[ 1950.586326] usb 2-1.7: new high-speed USB device number 117 using ehci_hcd
[ 1950.849160] usb 2-1.7: reset high-speed USB device number 117 using ehci_hcd
[ 1951.838273] ieee80211 phy11: Selected rate control algorithm 'minstrel_ht'
[ 1951.838668] Registered led device: rt73usb-phy11::radio
[ 1951.838684] Registered led device: rt73usb-phy11::assoc
[ 1951.838699] Registered led device: rt73usb-phy11::quality

When I try to enable the device, dmesg spits out

[ 1964.968776] udevd[15344]: segfault at 10 ip 000000000040da37 sp 00007fffb8c566e0 error 4 in udevd[400000+26000]

Just after the output above.

Re: Rt2x00 (rt73usb), udevd segfaults when enabling the device.

I was going to tell you that I think you need firmware for that device in /lib/firmware, but I went looking for it there and there's nothing there.  It's now in /usr/lib/firmware the rt73.bin.
Do you use the wicd, or network manager?  I can't tell whether you have set the proper iwconfig / router to set up to.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
