Hi all, I've got a problem here today with my build system. After doing some tests I can see that pacman is not syncing [extra]. Nothing has changed on my configuration, it's just behaving as if [extra] isn't present in my pacman.conf (which it is of course!).
On my i686 box:
$ pacman -Syy
:: Synchronising package databases...
core 103.7 KiB 174K/s 00:01 [######################] 100%
community 1690.4 KiB 331K/s 00:05 [######################] 100%Has anything changed?
As a test on another machine, I did this: a base build with one package from [extra]:
$ mkarchroot test_x86_64 base keychainIt works fine. If, in /etc/pacman.conf, I change Architecture from auto to i686 it fails:
$ mkarchroot test_i686 base keychain

error: target not found: keychain
==> ERROR: Failed to install all packagesIt doesn't matter what pkg from [extra] you choose, the problem isn't the package - it's the fact the [extra] repo is being ignored during the sync phase.
Hopefully someone can help, as I am somewhat bemused right now...

Have you searched the forums? There are at least 3 other threads on this...
EDIT : Solution : Change your mirrors and try again. there are reports from users that some mirrors have had issues and seem to have lost the entire extra repo.
Closing...

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !
