switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

Just installed fresh copy of archlinux to my eeepc

7gig HD partition
500mb - boot ext4
2gig - / ext4
gig - swap
rest - /usr ext4

30 gig (i think?)
2gig - var ext4
2gig - tmp ext4
rest - home ext4

anyways I get this error after I boot up.

:: mounting '/dev/sda2' on real root
:: running cleanup hook [udev]
switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init: no such file or directory

I get the feeling this problem is front page, but you're dealing with a linux newbie here so i don't know what's going on or how to fix it.

Thanks and sorry for my lack of knowledge.

EDIT: only had one line in my /etc/fstab so I'm just reinstalling everything...apparently I made a mistake on isntallation twice?  Not 100%, but I'm reinstalling everything the same way for the third time hoping I jsut screwed up

EDIT2:  I just reinstalled same way and same problem....nothing in my /etc/fstab (even though before rebooting it had everything correct) but it has the correct stuff I edited in my rc.conf.....why isn't it saving my fstab correctly?

Re: switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

Use the installation media, chroot to your new environment and edit fstab.
You should add at least two lines, one for / (rootfs) and one for swap.

Check and save the fstab and then try to reboot your machine.
Through this process you will be able to identify your problems and solve them properly

Re: switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

apparently I was looing at /mnt/etc/fstab which obviously was incorrect.....my fstab is correct.  Any other suggestions?

Re: switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

Perhaps your boot entry is wrong ...
i think its time to write some confs here

Re: switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

the only conf I changed during installation was adding my hostname to rc.conf.

Re: switch_root: failed to execute /sbin/init

I am having the exact same problem. I also have a very similar partition scheme. Any ideas?
