It's my understanding that this wireless adapter was having issues with the core kernel, so I tried with the LTS kernel and I am having the same issues. It does not seem to be working with DHCP.
I can log in, type "iwconfig wlan0 essid "myessid"" as root and the adapter will gain a blinking link light. Looking at the interface with iwconfig, I can also see the frequency, link quality, signal level and the like. However, trying to use dhcpcd to assign an IP address results in the following:
wlan0: sending IPv6 Router Solicitation
wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
eth0: waiting for carrier
wlan0: Router Advertisement from fe80::22aa:4bff:fece:d28
wlan0: fe80::22aa:4bff:fece:d28: expired Router Advertisement
wlan0: did not fork due to absent RDNSS option in the RA
wlan0: Router Advertisement from fe80::22aa:4bff:fece:d28
wlan0: fe80::22aa:4bff:fece:d28: expired Router Advertisement
wlan0: did not fork due to absent RDNSS option in the RA
timed out
After a time, it loses the information in iwconfig and I lose the link light. I have tried setting the device to promiscuous mode and that has not resolved the issue.
My wireless is working 100% in Windows, so I do not believe that it is an issue with the device itself. If it's of any use, my router is a Linksys E1200.
Please let me know if any additional information is needed to troubleshoot, and thank you all for your time. This is a fresh install.

After the first iwconfig; the one where you set the essid, but before the dhcpcd, try a iwconfig with no parameters. check the output of that command and ensure that it associates with your router, and that it knows the MAC address of that router. dhcpcd is pointless until you are truly associated.
Also, the technique you are using will only work for an open router. If it is WEP, you also need to provide a key. If is WPA/WPA2, you are completely on the wrong track; You need wpa_supplicant.
If you can, please post the output of sudo iwlist scan and of ifconfig when you think you are associated and ready to run dhcpcd.

It is an open router, and I believe that it is associated properly with my router. Here are the outputs of the commands you requested:

Sorry, I wanted the output of iwconfig Not the ifconfig I had actually asked for.
But, It appears that things are working, so we should have this solved soon (Assuming you are trying to connect to olivegarden) [BTW, why am a craving soup, salad and breadsticks, but I digress...]
That router is, indeed open.

Do you want to use IPv6 and is the router setup for it?
I am asking since all your output only shows IPv6 stuff.

No doubt about it. You are associated with that AP. The meat is right there where it says Access Point: 20:AA:4B:CE:0D:2A
Based upon some searches, this looks like an IPv6 issue. Can you try dhclient instead of dhcpcd ??

Jiri
I was able to get your device to work against WPA but not against an open connection.
Details here FWIW: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 4#p1126674
Good luck
