Terminal text corruption during boot

I'm having a weird problem where during boot, text in the tty gets garbled up for a period, keeps garbling, then returns to normal.
As soon as the garbling begins, the colours change to be a little darker, too.
I don't see any noticeable side effects to this, it's just a little weird for it to be happening.
I'm currently using systemd, but this problem was happening before on initscripts too (before I recently upgraded).

Here's some images to better convey what's happening:

Corruption started directly after this line.

And finished at this one.

(just slow shutter speed here, text didn't overlap)

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28215761/misc/ … /sysd2.jpg

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28215761/misc/ … /sysd3.jpg

Is this some sort of font/encoding problem?

Thanks!

Not sure if you mean locale.conf or locale.gen, so,

locale.conf is:
LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=C

and locale.gen is

en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8
en_GB ISO-8859-1

awh, welcome to the forums.

Please read our forum etiquette esp. section "7 Pasting Pictures and Code". You may alaso want to have a look at the screenshot posting rules for additional info.

BTW, the [ quote ] tags around those illustrations were unnecessary in this case. I did remove them as well.

What does locale show?

I have made a personal commitment not to reply in topics that start with a lowercase letter. Proper grammar and punctuation is a sign of respect, and if you do not show any, you will NOT receive any help (at least not from me).

I manually resized the pictures by like 90% already, thought that was enough, sorry! Thought the [ quote ] tags might make the box scrollable, too.

Thanks, using Nouveau with early start has seemed to have worked (was previously using nvidia). My Google-fu is weak. wink
Curiously, I just noticed from pacman logs, I actually had Nouveau and nvidia installed together, which is weird, since I've never installed Nouveau before. :S

Set a font in /etc/vconsole.conf.
