Network is not running - but working

Hi There.

I found a problem during shutdown - its say my network is not running, thou Ie been on the net doing my stuff.
I trying to type - /etc/rc.d/network start - Fails
/etc/rc.d/network stop - Network is not running - try network start
/etc/rc.d/network restart - The same.

I havent got the latest update - becaurse Ie heard of all the problems other persons have... But cant find any that have this type of problem...

The latest updates are not that bad . Anyway, this should be not a problem at all

It happens every time, without any change in the system...
But the funniest thing of all is, that my network works great without its running ????? I cant figure that one out

Strange. The only thing I can think of is that /etc/rc.d/network got corrupted somehow. But on the other hand, this is kinda silly as I don't know how, assuming you did not modify it by hand?

I havent touch anything according to my network... It´s fun its working, but not running...
So . somewhere somehow it doesn´t matter - but still strange
