Hybrid graphics i915/radeon. Switch to radeon results to black screen

I have installed Arch Linux on a Dell Inspiron R15 with hybrid Intel/AMD graphics. vga_switcheroo is enabled and I can control radeon power with "echo ON/OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch".
But when I try to switch to radeon in console with "echo DIS > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch" the screen turns off. I can switch back to intel with "echo IGD > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch" by blind typing it, and then the screen turns back on.
Any ideas?

As I understand, these are only useful when X is running, which is not my case. Either way, they have the same effect as IGD/DIS.

Hi there,
First I am not using archlinux but debian.
However I have the exact same issue with a compiled "by hand" kernel 3.7.
Like you it seems that everything is working fine exept that the screen is totally black, and the brightness buttons don't change anything.

I don't have much too bring to you exept that if I boot on my "official" kernel 3.2 everything works. So maybe I did something wrong with the option (doubt that since I copy the options from 3.2) before compile 3.7 or it is a recent problem. Do you have older kernel to test with than 3.8 ?
Anycase we might consider report as a bug to the radeon team.

I have tried linux-lts 3.0.70 with a similar effect. Instead of the sceen turning off, it just freezes.
I will report to kernel bugzilla, and report the link here.
