Trouble patterning path names in quotes [Tomoyo]

I use w3m, which seems to create a lot of symlinks, and I've been wanting to pattern these so as to simplify the rule set, but can't seem to get it to work for paths inside double quotes.  Something like this is what I am seeing:

file symlink /home/isaac/.w3m/somefilename symlink.target="/home/isaac/.w3m/someotherfilename.{html,jpg,png,etc}"

I can patternize the unquoted pathname in that string to something like this:

file symlink /home/\*/.w3m/\*

but the quoted path for simlink.target doesn't patternize.  Has anyone had luck getting this to work?

Edit:  I should have added the rule I was trying from patternize.conf:

rewrite tail_pattern /home/\*/.w3m/\*
