Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

I recently replaced Netcfg with Netctl and netctl is giving me very frequent disconnects (about once every 10 minutes)

Attached is relevant information:

 > cat /etc/netctl/school.edu
Connection='wireless'
Interface=wlan0
Security=wpa-configsection
IP=dhcp
WPAConfigSection=(
    'ssid="school.edu"'
    'key_mgmt=WPA-EAP'
    'eap=PEAP MSCHAPV2'
    'group=CCMP'
    'pairwise=CCMP'
    'identity="USER"'
    'password="PASSWORD"'
    'priority=1'
    'phase1="peapver=0"'
    'phase2="MSCHAPV2"'

Any way to debug this problem? Its really bugging me. It is even happening on my school's open guest network all over campus.

Re: Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

Netctl can't give you disconnects because it merely spawns wpa_supplicant which handles things from there. Also, your logs are all normal and don't show the 10min disconnects you're talking about.

Re: Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

Is there anything else I can do to debug this error? I've been booting into Ubuntu for the time being =[

I found some more errors on the disconnect...

Re: Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

Are these FW errors occur on every boot/regularly? In this case, you have an issue with FS or driver. You can try booting with linux-lts, to see if it works around the problem. But the best solution is to report a bug at kernel bugzilla.

Arch Linux is more than just GNU/Linux -- it's an adventure

Re: Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

An update to TLP (Thinkpad scripts) fixed this issue. I had to set

/etc/default/tlp

DISABLE_TPACPIBAT = 0

Which seems weird, since the comment says "Set 1 to disable on Sandy Bridge or new Thinkpads". I'm running an Ivy bridge..

Re: Netctl frequent reconnects after netcfg replacement (iwlwifi)

This appeared to be fixed, but it was only hiding for an hour or so. The only line in journalctl that appears when i disconnect is:

How would i go about debugging this? This is bugging me to no end.
