Making netctl's wifi behaviour more persistent?

Hi,

I'm using wireless-wpa-config to configure my network using netctl.  I can manage networking manually by using wpa_supplicant and dhclient, but I'm having problem getting netctl to connect.  The institution that manages my building's wireless has done a pretty poor job of it and usually I get about five timeouts before authentication works.  However, netctl gives up before this can happen.

Is there a way I can make netctl's behaviour more like wpa_supplicant, where it continues trying with 5 second timeouts and doesn't give up unless I soft-block the device with rfkill?

Thanks,
