[sms@latitude-arch-sms ~]$ sudo pacman -Syu connman netctl
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: connman and openresolv are in conflict. Remove openresolv? [y/N] y
:: netctl and netcfg are in conflict. Remove netcfg? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: netctl: requires openresolv
I'm OK with that but:
In the near future, the old netcfg will be removed from [core]. Anyone using it is urged to move to netctl.
So... will be connman's support dropped or what?

Well; it sure does seem like it, since there's a direct conflict with the openresolv. Would be interesting to hear from someone that knows more about this.

You use either the one or the other. None of them will be unsupported, no one is forced to use any of them. If you use netctl as your network manager, you cannot use connman. If you use connman as your network manager, you cannot (and should not and need not) use netctl.
The only downside is that this means you cannot use netctl for some interfaces and connman for some other interfaces at the same time.
