urxvt icon: not accepting .Xdefauls but -iconFile flag

Hello everybody,

I encountered a weird (at least to me) behavior of urxvt. If I start it with

 urxvt -iconFile /usr/share/icons/Faience/apps/scalable/utilities-terminal.svg

the icon is perfectly displayed. If I put the following option in my .Xdefaults

 URxvt.iconFile: /usr/share/icons/Faience/apps/scalable/utilities-terminal.svg

it always answers

urxvt: Loading image icon failed, continuing without.

on startup. All other options from .Xdefaults are accepted.
I compiled rxvt-unicode-9.18 with

 ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-everything

and libafterimage and gdk-pixbuf are installed. Maybe it is a 64 bit issue (since I am using it).

Thank you for any hints.

Re: urxvt icon: not accepting .Xdefauls but -iconFile flag

there's been trouble with urxvt's icon capabilities recently, after some updates, and required installation of a patched urxvt package to fix. but this affected urxvt's icon capability in general, not only from xdefaults.

anyhow, for what it's worth:
i installed rxvt-unicode-pixbuf from aur on 9th of june, but the package has since disappeared... i guess that means there's no need for it anymore...
there's a forum thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=163435
and in my xdefaults the line in question looks like this:

Rxvt*iconFile: /usr/share/icons/.../terminal.svg
