x11-ssh-askpass not "launching" under Xfce

I recently reinstalled Arch on my Eee 701SD netbook, and have run into an issue with Keychain and z11-ssh-askpass. In my previous installation, I had followed the instructions on the SSH Keys wiki page, so that Keychain would ask for my SSH passphrase at first login, either at the command line (console login) or via x11-ssh-askpass (for an X session).

My previous installation used SLiM as the login manager, and Fluxbox as the WM; for the new installation I am using LightDM and Xfce (DE). I have followed the wiki article instructions for setting up Keychain and x11-ssh-askpass, as before.

The problem is: if I login via the console (i.e. not via LightDM/X11), Keychain is invoked and asks for my passphrase. However, if I log in via LightDM to an X session, the x11-ssh-askpass dialogue box doesn't appear.

This all worked fine for my previous installation - is Xfce interfering with Keychain somehow? Do I need to specify the SSH_ASKPASS environment variable?

Many thanks,
Tim.
