Hi folks. This is very frustrating to me and my google skills are failing.
The problem begins when my SSD activity light goes on, and the system freezes for about 15 seconds. dmesg shows this:

I have set hdparm device standby timeout to 251 so it's not a standby issue. I'm out of gas here and could use some advice oer being pointed in the right direction.

I'm not sure how your google skill can be inadequate in finding info about this. I just copy and pasted the "failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED" (chosen simply because it is in all caps), and got all kinds of stuff… even stuff in this very forum.
So instead of just bumping your post over and over again, do a little searching and see what you can find.
BTW, back up your data ASAP.

I'd say first backup all data like WonderWoofy said. After that I would try not changing anything, don't use hdparm to change any APM or standby timeouts, SSDs don't use as much power as spinning disks, they don't have heads to park which cause wear so leave that alone, those settings might not even get enough testing anymore.
After that I would try changing the data cable if the one you are using is some no-name/no-brand cable that you don't know where it came from.
Also try to reroute the data cable away from possible sources of interference such as power supply cables to big power users such as graphics cards and the cpu voltage step down circuitry (these might be the biggest offenders in terms of radiated noise. From my little personal experience this might not help much, also sata cables with differential signaling should be mostly immune to external noise sources).
Check if there is any firmware update for the SSD, although linux is almost always not supported, some problem with windows might prompt a firmware update that also fixes things for you.
The last resort option, if possible, is to use some tool provided by the ssd manufacturer to reduce the bus data transfer rate as it might help the disk+board to deal with whatever is causing problems.
The post last resort option is to try and get some help with the disk manufacturer, if they have some boot cd or standalone utility use that to test the disk. I suppose contacting them and saying "I'm using linux and I'm having this problem ....." will get you nowhere.
