Today I installed a new system. After installation I at first configured netctl. Wired and wireless connections to my router worked perfectly fine with netctl. For more convenience I installed NetworkManager and the KDE Plasma addon according to the wiki. (I also disabled netcfg with systemctl, enabled NetworkManager and rebooted the system.) With NetworkManager I was not able to connect to my network. Neither via wifi nor via a wired connection. I tried the Plasma addon as well as nmcli. Both showed "connecting" for a few seconds and "disconnected" afterwards.

I played around a bit with the configuration and it does work now. Don't really know why. Thanks though!

I found the problem and wanted to document it in case somebody else runs into it: Because I used a wired connection for a short period of time after the installation I was still running the 'dhcpcd.service'. I disabled it with 'systemctl' and now Networkmanager works like a charm.
