Wine + Morrowind (And others) + Gnome + fglrx = glitches

Hello, I'm running Arch x86_64 fully updated except catalyst-hook which is 13.11
I use playonlinux. I installed Morrowind with all the expansions and it works great (!) except for one small issue. If I run the game fullscreen I get like 300 fps, but running it windowed slows it down a lot. The framerate stays on 30 fps when there is low geometry on the screen (like looking on the sky) and 18-20 in all the other cases. Turning down render distance and other graphics gets it slightly higher (22-23 fps, 31 fps). I think it's gnome's fault.
Also I can't play fine on fullscreen because I can still see the gnome bar at the top and this pushes the game window down so I can't see the bottom!
Finally, I also tried Two Worlds II and Guild Wars 2. The first one runs very well but after a few seconds it glitches and my fglrx crashes and I can't even get to virtual consoles. Same if I run it in his own X server.
Guild Wars 2 also glitches after a while, but only using CSMT patched wine. If I use 1.7.4 it runs fine on stability but I get 5-10 fps. Both can't even start if I use windowed because the screen goes all glitchy and then the video driver crashes, and I can't even get to virtual console.
EDIT: Tried morrowind in his own display. Instantly crashes when I click play in his launcher (Maybe I need a window manager?)
EDIT: Morrowind fullscreen on gnome is not an option: it glitches everything and I can't play decently
Is there a solution for Morrowind except running it in his own X server? I'm mostly interessed in getting it to work in windowed mode, or at least removing the gnome bar in fullscreen.

Thank you all in advance.

Re: Wine + Morrowind (And others) + Gnome + fglrx = glitches

do you tried using a virtual desktop eg with:?

explorer /desktop=<NAME>,800x600

BTW:  Better write a shell script to start your app either write your own or look at https://github.com/Thaodan/usenew  and edit this example:

Great suggestion! I didn't think about it!
Running morrowind fullscreen inside a virtual desktop fixes everything! I have no glitches with the UI and the game runs very smooth convienently placed in a window!
I tried Two Worlds II too but it occupies the entire screen (1920x1080) even if I start it from steam in a virtual desktop (why is this possible?)
Guild Wars 2 had a big patch so I can't try it yet

Use a virtual desktop, everry you start a application that has fullscreen if you don't know how it beahaves

Some appss Ignore or bug the wine virtual desktop.
Abou the GW2 thing: dou you mean the chromium https patch? If yes look at my modifed wine PKGBUILD (wine-multimedia with some extra packages):
https://github.com/Thaodan/thaopkgs/tre … multimedia

I have a tool to do such stuff if you start apps manually (not by a script for an installed programm ) see here

I will look into your tool.
For Gw2, I meant the official patch (it's an MMO so many patches come out) and I have slow internet, so I will test it later
By the way there's another issue with morrowind. If I play more than 5-10 minutes, the keyboard goes glitchy and when I press something it either stays pressed or doesn't work at all and it becomes impossible to play. I can't find anyone with the same problems, and I played 20 mins straight the first time I run it in fullscreen and nothing wrong happened so I guess it's after today's update. I updated catalyst, gnome and the kernel to latest version. I'll try playing with settings and see if I can fix this last problem then I can play!!
EDIT: Just fixed it, I remembered reading somewhere that you had to put Windows version in wine to "Windows 98", I did it, and now the keyboard works as it should.
