Kernel compiled using ABS

I was compiling a custom kernel using ABS and i noticed that i only had the packages: linux-3.11.tar.xz and patch-3.11.6.xz.
Don't we have to apply the earlier patches: 3.11.1, 3.11.2, 3.11.3, 3.11.4 and 3.11.5 too?

Have you compiled the older versions as well?

No, you just apply the patchset for the version you want to build.

Are you sure?
I read this:
"Patching the kernel is a good choice if you wish to upgrade from your current patch level to the next consecutive patch level. For example, patching kernel 2.2.5 to 2.2.6 involves applying one patch. You should update your abs as the current version is 3.12.
