Huawei E153 modem dials and disconnects

Hi all,

I'm new to Arch linux, installed it yesterday. The problem is that I cannot connect to Internet using my Huawei E153 modem. It dials. the light of the modem goes on indicating that it connected (but the network manager icon stays at the connecting icon) then it disconnects (light goes off, network manager icon stays at the "connecting" icon for few more seconds and then gives me an error saying the connection failed).

Following is the log for the network manager related to the events.

Is this a DHCP related issue? (My connection is working fine in windows). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Huawei E153 modem dials and disconnects

I tried manually starting the dhcp service for the modem as follows.

systemctl start dhcpcd@wwp0s29u1u3i1

Job for dhcpcd@wwp0s29u1u3i1.service failed. See 'systemctl status dhcpcd@wwp0s29u1u3i1.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
systemctl status dhcpcd@wwp0s29u1u3i1.service
