Re: [SOLVED] Wolfenstein ET + ATI Radeon 9200 --> black scr

Maybe the game sets a resolution your monitor does not support? For example, if I try to set a resolution of 640x480 pixels my monitor automatically turns black because it does not support this resolution. You should also check the console output of ET to see if it complains about something.

Re: [SOLVED] Wolfenstein ET + ATI Radeon 9200 --> black scr

the console log is quite strange...
There's message that OpenGL can't load or set, becouse of bad resolution...

I don't have any problems with it on yoper or ubuntu...

here's what console writes :

Re: [SOLVED] Wolfenstein ET + ATI Radeon 9200 --> black scr

I've just done "pacman -Syu" and there was a new ati-drivers package installed.

ET worked perfectly before this, but now I get exactly the same as you with the same settings I had before (which worked).

I get a black screen after the intro.

edit: I have a radeon 8500

edit2: If I start et like this: et +set r_ext_compiled_vertex_array 0

it works. But damn, those new ati-drivers seem to go really slow with ET!

edit3: with older ati-drivers package reinstalled it works fine again smile

As is true for most people I know, I've always loved learning. As is also true for most people I know, I always hated school. Why is that?

Re: [SOLVED] Wolfenstein ET + ATI Radeon 9200 --> black scr

gunnix : thanks, now it works  8)

I've just made simple script, but after configuration, everything's good.

#!/bin/sh
cd "/games/Wolfenstein_ET/"
./et set r_ext_compiled_vertex_array 0 "$@"

Quake3 having same problem but is also working if using:
./quake3 set r_ext_compiled_vertex_array 0 "$@"

Thanks!

Re: [SOLVED] Wolfenstein ET + ATI Radeon 9200 --> black scr

mhm my is really slow too. but seems to be ati-related (hd514s) with xf86-video-ati, because my desktop with nvidia is just fine.
I can't create a player, because it so slow.
Does anybody have a tip?
