Hi everyone!
I'm in university, in computing (DUT) and we usally go in the lab room for coding or learn things about UNIX. I personnaly prefer bring my own laptop, to work my code at home easily.
My problem is, when i want to have an internet acces, i cant establish any connection. Usally, with the computer of the lab, you have to type your user and psswd. My question is, what is the command to connect, in ethernet, my laptop to the network of the IUT ? I have, of course, the user/passwd .
In hope of a help,
Baz.

I don't know how your University manages their wired network, but at the one where I work, you have to register your device with IT Services before you can connect. See if your University has any instructions on how to connect.

At some universities you can connect to their network with the standard mechanisms (dhcpcd or dhclient) but then to get internet access you need to log in with a user name and password through a web browser. On a well set up network, any url should redirect to the login page - but on many less well set up networks "google.com" seems to be the most universally redirected.

Find official instruction for "How to connect University Internet". If you cannot understand that, link here. We can explain that arch(linux) way.
We cannot help these things much without more detail. There is no magic command.
Another method, find 'the guy'(or girl?) among other students. The guy who knows how to get connection. Tell him you want to get connection and using Arch. If the guy ask about what is Arch, he is not 'the guy'.
