This is not exactly priority one but...
I can't download dwarf fortress. Pretty much a disaster.
I have tried any number of mirrors. After each update to the mirrorlist, I run "pacman -Syy" and update the database. Then I run "Pacman -S dwarffortress" and I alwasy get get target not found: dwarffortress.
I can clearly see it is in the community repository. Why can't pacman see it?

If you have a 64 bit system then you will need to enable the multilib repository.

As circleface said, that package is in the [multilib] repository which is not enabled by default.
~ $ pacman -Ss dwarffortress
multilib/dwarffortress 0.40.03-1
A single-player fantasy game. You control a dwarven outpost or an adventurer in a randomly generated persistent world.
See the "multilib/" before the package name in the output.
You can enable the multilib repository by editing /etc/pacman.conf

There does however seem to be an issue with this package in the repos as it won't rsync...
symlink has no referent: "/community/os/x86_64/dwarffortress-0.34.11-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz.sig" (in archlinux)

Don't post just the output, post what command you used.

A local mirror of the 64 bit repos:
rsync -rtlHv --delete-after --delay-updates --copy-links --safe-links --max-delete=1000 --bwlimit=0 --delete-excluded --exclude=.* --exclude-from=/srv/mirrors/arch_excludes.txt
That package alone returns an error.

dwarffortess is up to version 0.40.03 now, your mirror is probably out of date. In any case, please don't hijack the thread.

It has been updated to version 0.40.03-1, maybe that's the problem.
Why are you using rsync? Edit: WorMzy is right, please open a new thread.

Well, thanks yall. Didn't realize I was running x64. Also thought I had enabled multilib, but I just uncommented the line below [multilib] in pacman.conf, not that line itself. With that done, I shall be a-dwarfin in no time.
Thanks again.

Interesting :-)
Arch is available in two versions - 32 or 64-bits. If you installed the system yourself, you should know that.
What's the output of
uname -a

There is no hijacking going on here.
I don't even know what dwarf fortress is, let alone care about whether it will download or not, but I do know that the issue has nothing to do with enabling multilib repos.
I was seeking no help for myself, and proffered my own scant experience on this matter solely in an effort to help the original poster, hoping that someone more knowlegeble (yourself?) might be able to explain what's going on.
