[SOLVED] KDE panel freezing

Having a bit of trouble with KDE. Every few minutes, things just freeze up for about 30-45 seconds before running again.

Not everything freezes - just the KDE stuff i.e. the panel, widgets, the weird cashew, and even windows/window decorations (but not actual applications).

I've found a few similar cases, but none of the fixes apply:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=127747 (no fixes here work)
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=159237 (I have intel, not nvidia)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=287002 (could be, but no specific fix)

Technical details for what they're worth:

3.16.3-1-ARCH x86_64 GNU/Linux
Intel Ivy Bridge i5 with integrated graphics
6Gb RAM

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Solved by removing all widgets from the KDE dashboard.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE panel freezing

Update: frustratingly, this started happening on my desktop too.

pstree shows a huge amount of chrome/chromium processes running, and many are under plasma-desktop.

Desktop has nvidia card, so link #2 above may apply, though I thought that issue was solved long ago. Does not seem to coincide with an update in the repos of either package, as it just started happening in the past week.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE panel freezing

I can't add anything constructive other than I am running KDE on desktop and laptop without issue (Nvidia desktop intel graphics on laptop). If you create or log in as a different user, does that user also suffer the same issue? It may be a specific widget that's causing the problem

Re: [SOLVED] KDE panel freezing

Thanks Tom! I think it was a widget.

Problem was solved by removing all widgets from the KDE dashboard. Now I need to use them one by one and determine which was blocking plasma-desktop.
