I have wrote the iso to USB using "dd bs=4M if=archlinux-2014.10.01-dual.iso of=/dev/sdb".
On a computer with "phoneix awardbios" the usb does not boot instead it shows "isolinux.bin missing or corrupt"
I tried on a laptop, it booted and shows the archlinux grubmenu.

When you do isos it is typically you have to pull the kernel files out and point the boot to the usb stick. Otherwise, it tries to boot like a CD and access the CD ROM when there isn't even anything in the CDROM. Maybe this thread may help.

Flash the BIOS with a new firmware perhaps? That may fix the issue as it has for me in the past.
