Pulseaudio: no sound output

I have had two previous problems with my sound, both resolved. The current problem has persisted for some while, since some update I think, and I haven't used my laptop a lot since then.

I'm using pulseaudio. There is no sound output. Not from nmpcpp, mpv, firefox, anything. I have pulseaudio-alsa installed. I don't know what more info I could provide right now, so please enlighten me.

This is alsa-mixer:

This is pavu-control:

Thank you.

Hi, thanks for reply, and sorry for late re-reply. This happens:

(Could the problem be cause by missing AUR pakages? Because last time I updated, the official packages got updated but not the AUR ones)

Re: Pulseaudio: no sound output

1) Don't bump.
2) Did you ever fix the error in your output ("libffado.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory")?
3) Have you updated your AUR packages?

Re: Pulseaudio: no sound output

Yes, all AUR packages are updated and the problem persists.

I installed the libffado package and ran alsa_in again:

[root]# alsa_in
connect(2) call to /dev/shm/jack-0/default/jack_0 failed (err=No such file or directory)
jackd 0.124.1

ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 32bit integer little-endian

[root]# jack main caught signal 12
no message buffer overruns

(don't know why the prompt popped up again before the two last lines)

Stupid question: Are you member of the audio group? I had a small issue relating to this after the 3.17-update.

No, there's no need to add $USER to audio group. Group#Pre-systemd_groups.

Re: Pulseaudio: no sound output

Same issue here, had same `alsa_in` output. I plugged in my headphones, unplugged them, and audio now works (both headphones and speakers).

Don't ask me what happened.

EDIT: Ok, I know what *may* have happened: I rebooted with headphones plugged in. Give it a shot and tell me if your problem was the same.
