i done a system upgrade with pacman -Syu everything downloaded ok, it gets to the install and errors with dependency errors saying quite a few (cant remember which ones) packages need xfree86.
then it aborts
i haven`t got a clue ........ help :?:
Alternatively, try to first upgarde pacman alone. First do pacman -Sy to get the latest database and then do pacman -S pacman so that you have the latest version of pacman. The latest version of pacman can AFAIK handle the awkward xfree86 updates more gracefully.
andy; i tried that but i`m still getting the same errors :?
Syntaxerror; cheers m8 for the info ,i`ll give it a go.
pacman -S pacman
pacman -Rd xfree86
pacman -S xfree86
I am not your friend
i`ve done this but now i`m getting to scrollkeeper and its aborting with dependency errors
Scrollkeeper errors and dependency errors are two different things.
The scrollkeeper errors are created by a change in the scrollkeeper package. To get fix them type 'pacman -Sf scrollkeeper'. Doing a search on the forum would have shown you threads like this one: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … rollkeeper
Dependency errors are probably happening because you've screwed up something. What are the errors?
