hi
i done a system upgrade with pacman -Syu everything downloaded ok, it gets to the install and errors with dependency errors saying quite a few (cant remember which ones) packages need xfree86.
then it aborts
i haven`t got a clue ........ help :?:

Alternatively, try to first upgarde pacman alone. First do pacman -Sy to get the latest database and then do pacman -S pacman so that you have the latest version of pacman. The latest version of pacman can AFAIK handle the awkward xfree86 updates more gracefully.

i`ve done this but now i`m getting to scrollkeeper and its aborting with dependency errors :cry:

Scrollkeeper errors and dependency errors are two different things.
The scrollkeeper errors are created by a change in the scrollkeeper package. To get fix them type 'pacman -Sf scrollkeeper'. Doing a search on the forum would have shown you threads like this one: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … rollkeeper
Dependency errors are probably happening because you've screwed up something. What are the errors?
