Hey there, new hard drive! So I've done a fresh install of Arch, and got everything running, but when configuring my panel and trying to add the clock I get this error
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet".
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?
I have been searching all over the forums for someone with the same issue, and tried a few things that worked for others, but they turned out to be a no go for me, anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Where are all the helpful people? I'll be glad to elaborate on anything.

run :
/opt/gnome/libexec/clock-applet from an console
you will probably get a better error.

I was getting similar errors after upgrading to xorg7, what solved them was installing (or was it just upgrading, can't remember) libwnck. That could possibly work for you too

Same problem here, but only recently. All I did was install vsftp daemon, which required me to upgrade openssl. Then gnome kept crashing cause it couldn't start ssh-agent or something cause the openssl version didn't match, so i upgraded openssh. And now i get the error from the clock applet Very strange.

doh, pacman -Suy.
we do not do versioning to everything. so you will get these kind of errors if you do not get up to date.
