New (to me) Gnome problem

Hey there, new hard drive! So I've done a fresh install of Arch, and got everything running, but when configuring my panel and trying to add the clock I get this error

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet".

Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

I have been searching all over the forums for someone with the same issue, and tried a few things that worked for others, but they turned out to be a no go for me, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks big_smile

Where are all the helpful people? I'll be glad to elaborate on anything.

Re: New (to me) Gnome problem

I was getting similar errors after upgrading to xorg7, what solved them was installing (or was it just upgrading, can't remember) libwnck. That could possibly work for you too

Re: New (to me) Gnome problem

Same problem here, but only recently. All I did was install vsftp daemon, which required me to upgrade openssl. Then gnome kept crashing cause it couldn't start ssh-agent or something cause the openssl version didn't match, so i upgraded openssh. And now i get the error from the clock applet hmm Very strange.

Re: New (to me) Gnome problem

doh, pacman -Suy.

we do not do  versioning to everything. so you will get these kind of errors if you do not get up to date.
