[SOLVED] Can't pacman-optimize because of community/electrum

My pacman operations have been pretty slow lately, waiting on the disk to do its thing, so I thought that maybe a pacman-optimize was in order.

Well, when I tried to do it, I got this:

Read Error in ./electrum-2.0.1-1/files
140482836391568:error:0200B005:system library:fread:Input/output error:bss_file.c:244:
140482836391568:error:20082002:BIO routines:FILE_READ:system lib:bss_file.c:245:
==> Tar'ing up /var/lib/pacman/local...
bsdtar: (null)
==> ERROR: Tar'ing up /var/lib/pacman/local failed.

What do?

If you don't have it back up, you may need to force a reinstall of that package.

Wow. Okay, so the package was really screwed up on my system. I tried doing a pacman -Rd electrum, which was fine, but it left all of the files on the hard drive (obviously because the database didn't have any files listed as associated with the package).

Then I had to do a pacman -S --force to reinstall it because of the orphaned files on the disk. It looks like it's all good now, though.
