How to disable nm-applet?

I am now using netctl on gnome.  However, I see in System Monitor that the nm-applet process is still running.  How can I prevent it from running?

Thanks.

Re: How to disable nm-applet?

You can try if NotShowIn=Gnome or something similar works (like in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … nager#KDE)
If that doesn't work maybe disabling the NetworkManager service helps https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … orkManager

Uninstalling networkmanager is probably also possible since it isn't required by gnome
