Lots of the same warning from Network Manager in logs

I've been seeing a continuous stream of this warning from Network Manager in my logs that haven't shown up before

NetworkManager[9036]: <warn> Too many netlink events. Need to resynchronize platform cache

Usually when this happens my connections timeout.

Does anyone know what the warning means or how to go about fixing them?
