I've upgraded my Arch yesterday and today I'm having strange issue.
When I'm using ALT+F4 to close the window, the monitors are going black for few seconds and lighting up back.
I think that my system detects ALT+F4 as ALT+CTRL+F4, which switches to another tty.
ALT+CTRL+F4 works the same as ALT+F4. Another TTY is not showing up, I see only my desktop.
I've tried reinstalling nvidia driver and deleting xorg.conf, but it didn't worked.
Graphics: GTX-650
DE: KDE 4
How can I repair that weird issue?
It's very annoying.
Thanks in advance,
~vf

I can't reboot right now, but my system is up to date (even using [testing]), although just dwm and not KDE and an old Intel onboard GPU - works as always.
There's one thread that miiiiiight be related https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=197600 but it's just a guess.

i have the same problem after last kernel upgrade.
ctrl+alt wont work. Not in my DM not in my DE. Screen flashes and I am back to where I was. I cant see boot log on tty1 or another tty.
is not DE, DM or GPU related.
I am using lightdm, cinnamon and intel graphics.
It's not also the ctlr key. I can use ctrl+x or z or v as usual.

I'm using the current kernel now and things work as usual.

Save behaviour with latest kernel, 4.0.4-2.
Sometimes it works, but most of the times it doesn't.

Do you have your keyboard set up correctly in localectl?
Sorry, I'm approaching this backwards. There are 2 alt buttons on your keyboard. Does this behavior persist with both buttons or just one?

It's both alt and both ctrl kets.
I don't think it's the keyboard as it happens to a lot of people the same time. Also,
I can use ctrl+x or z or v as usual.

OK, I think I found the problem.
I was looking though the log files and I saw a lot of messages about pam login failed etc. Something like this thread
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=197606
It seems that the problem is lightdm. I migrated to sddm and everything works.
@vonflynee, are you using lightdm? if so, try with a different dm
