Hello all. This isn't an Arch problem, but I have no idea where to go to have some help as this is way over my head. I figured if anyone can troubleshoot this, it's gotta be my fellow archers
PROBLEM: I have a box where I upload periodical backups and that I can use as a VPN as well. Since this week, I cannot connect to my VPN, ssh into my box, or upload to it.
MORE INFO: I timeout when I ping the address. It doesn't work on my three computers at home (all hooked up to the same router) be it a linux box, raspberry or OSX. I didn't change any settings on my router this week.
Traceroute of server:
Trying to connect to my VPN:
└─> nmcli con up id FH
Error: Connection activation failed: the connection attempt timed out.
Ping:
This is what I get when using the traceroute of the router's diagnostic pane:
WHAT THEY SAID WHEN I CONTACTED THEM: That everything was good on their end, it must be a DNS or port problem over my computer.
WHAT I TRIED: When I plug a laptop straight in my modem, I can connect fine. When I use my router, I timeout. So it's safe to say the router is my problem. The router is a TP-Link Archer C7. Never had any issue with it.
1) Updated firmware.
2) Restored to factory settings.
3) Router Firewall off
4) PPTP, L2TP, IPSec passthrough all enabled
5) Tried with my computer IP in DMZ
6) Used openDNS
This is driving me NUTS. Let me know if you need more info, I tried to provide a little but I don't know what to do more to troubleshoot this.
Thanks very much for your time, I look forward hearing from you!
