what WLAN card is better for linux ?
card based on ralink chip ? or card supported by MadWiFi ?
(i want to create Soft AP)
Madwifi is better supported in Arch at the moment, with official packages in [unstable]. The rt2xoo project, athough it's working for some, is still relatively young. There's a PKGBUILD for it in the AUR.
With all the luck I've had with madwifi, I would recommend the Atheros chip. But I'm biased (there's also a pkgbuild for Madwifi in the AUR).
And on the 8th day, God gave the people Google so that all the problems of the universe could be researched from one central place. And it was good.
better though would be a prism54 or orinoco based chip. they have much more stable drivers.
edit: i missed you want to make a soft ap, in that case definitely find a prism54 based cards because afaik, they have a hostap driver.
