Hi,
I am trying to install Arch Linux on my personal laptop, behind a campus wireless network that is based on MSCHAPV2. Realizing that MSCHAPV2 support in Arch is shaky, and based on the fact that neither one of the secured or unsecured networks shown by "wifi-menu" can be connected to, I tried to follow the instructions given on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/WPA_supplicant, to use wpa_cli to manually connect to the secure network.
But when I try to do this, I get a message saying
<3>CTRL-REQ-IDENTITY-0: Identity needed for SSID WolfieNet-Secure
This is obviously because I need to enter both a login-id as well as a password for this wireless network. But I couldn't figure out how to pass the login-id to wpa_cli. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It seems I cannot install anything without having access to the network. And unfortunately I have no means of using a wired connection right now.
Thanks!
EDIT: Found a solution to pass "identity" manually through wpa_cli from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/WPA_supplicant.
However, now I need a way to automate this!
