Hey, guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle:
Lately my monitors (I have a dual-head setup) have been doing this weird thing where they've been giving me "No Signal", very shortly after startup. Booting in with nomodeset in the kernel parameters works for giving me access to my tty, but it disables my radeon driver (I have a radeon HD 6790, running with the open source radeon drivers), and I'm unable to start x.
A while ago I found a pseudo-fix that involved leaving one of my monitors unplugged from the desktop until it booted into my tty, but that doesn't seem to work any longer. This is super frustrating, and I thought a pair of fresh eyes would do me good. Anybody willing to help me through this?
I'm thinking it has something to do with the open source drivers' KMS; it gets to where the computer would normally change the resolution for the tty before the monitors die. Then again, I'm no expert and I could be totally off-base.
I appreciate the help!

It turned out to be LightDM malfunctioning in my case. I removed it from the boot sequence and haven't had trouble since.
