Error after importing Mbox template into my MediaWiki site

Hello everybody, I'm trying to setup mbox templates for MediaWiki. I've installed the Scribunto and ParserFunctions extensions and I'm getting this error whenever I try and use the {{mbox}} tag.

Lua error: Cannot create process: proc_open(/dev/null): failed to open stream: Operation not permitted

I've tried Googling around with not much luck and I was wondering if anybody here had any idea why exactly this is happening. I chmod'd /dev/null to 777 just for the heck of it but the error still happens. The rest of my site seems to work fine.
