I restored an LVM snapshot using lvconvert --merge and all seems OK except that the snapshot volume isn't removed, even after several reboots. It seems to be stuck.
08:10 PM [rob@caprica:~]$ sudo lvs -a
[sudo] password for rob:
LV VG Attr LSize Pool Origin Data% Meta% Move Log Cpy%Sync Convert
old_kubuntu caprica_vg -wi-a----- 50.00g
root caprica_vg Owi-aos--- 250.00g
[snappy] caprica_vg Swi-a-s--- 200.00g root 0.00
If I try to remove the "snappy" volume, I get an error saying that it can't remove a merging snapshot.
Anyone know how to solve this? When I shutdown the system, I get "resource busy" warnings from device mapper, but as far as I can tell, nothing is referring to this volume.

Many days later, the problem persists. I tried booting from a live USB and ran vgscan to initialize the volume group without mounting any of the volumes. Still no change. How can I get rid of this snapshot?

Yes. The "old_kubuntu" volume is just a backup of my old laptop, not relevant here.
